Ending Day 1 of Quilting~

I was up until midnight last night working on the finishing touches of quilting day #1. The jelly roll that I'm working with is made by Moda, it's the marmalade roll~ you can check out Moda's other jelly rolls at www.modafabrics.com. I am in love with their fabric as it's a higher quality of fabric, it's colorful and easy to work with!
Step 1: Ensure your craft room has a pleasant scent~ I prefer Yankee Candles!

Step 2: Cut selvage ends from jelly roll pieces~

Step 3: Cut 2.5" X 2.5" pieces (or rectangles) if you want to add spacers between your strips~

Step 4: Sew 1 long strip, with spacers in between~

Here's the final creation of sewing all pieces in 1 long strip~

Now for the busy work of the quilt! Happy Sunday!

Quilting Day 1...

Today marks the first day of my latest creation. As noted in the subject line, it's my first quilt! I cut multiple 2 X 2 squares to separate the fabric strip and have started to sew the first of 1600 inches of the first line while watching Emily Owens, MD on Netflix. It's been a great start!

Fabric & Ideas~

While at the fabric store today I came across this adorable fabric. I love it as it's got a bucket list on it~ I was able to relate to it as I've accomplished some of the items & have dreamed of the others. I plan on creating a bag, scrub hat (to wear at work) & a little wristlet.

I love the upper left notation, make a quilt for each of my children.

Baby, adopt one~ we can check that off of our list!

Kiss in the rain~ I'm going to have to pull Adam outside next time it rains! And I've always wanted to visit wine country!

Quilting & Fabric, My idea of a great time!

I've mentioned many times prior about my favorite quilting/fabric store being The Quilter's Market. I recently decided to take photos so you can see my idea of Heaven.

I've always had a passion for quilts, although didn't have the courage to attempt creating one. I recently ran into a dear work friend @ The Quilter's Market (who is an amazing quilter) & decided that it's my time to attempt a new craft! I only wish that my mom-in-law Nadine lived closer as she too is amazing at sewing. I have yet to see something that she can't create!

This is my inspiration for my next quilt!

These are jelly rolls, they are used for strip quilts. This is the roll that I purchased for my first quilt~

Can you tell that I'm attracted to bright colors?

Fingers crossed that my quilt will turn out as amazing as this one!

The blue fabric will be the backing on my quilt~

Adorable bag~ it's so festive!
