My Birthday~

Yesterday was my 33rd birthday & I had such a wonderful day! Adam, Michael & I woke up & were surprised by my best friend (Ashley) & her son with a caramel macchiato (my fave) & a bag full of goodies. A little later the boys & I ventured to Gates Pass where my dads work were launching rockets. This is a yearly gathering where people ranging in age from children to elderly build rockets prior to the launch day. It was fun to see the look of enjoyment on everyone's face.

After the rocket launching we went to my (latest) favorite quilting shop (the one that I was raving about in one of my prior posts). I asked if I could take photos however the owner said no, I was so disappointed!
Upon our arrival home Michael went down for a nap & my bestie came over & had dinner catered from Macaroni Grill. It amazes me as only a few years ago I loved going out & having drinks & partying it up. My how I'm domesticated now!

P.S. Last year I wanted a kick ass iron (which my grandma made this come true) & this year I wanted a sprinkler hose for my garden bed.

I came outside from the quilt store & found the boys hanging out.

Today I made corn, potato & carrot squeeze packs!

Easter Jammies~

Michael & I decided to take a trip to Target (I swear I can spend a paycheck there) & we came across the cutest little Easter pj's. I simple couldn't resist to purchase them!

Another Fabric Project~

While Michael was down for a nap yesterday I perused my old pins on Pintrest & came across a fun new project. I'm going to create some fun ABC's & 123's out of scraps of fabric to help Michael learn! I know, I know, he's only 8 (almost 9 months). However any boost we can do to help aid his spongy little brain in learning I will attempt!

This is a photo courtesy of Pintrest~ I'll post my photos once I've completed my project!

Visit~

While on the phone with my grandma last night I realized that I forgot to upload photos & an update for our visit with Sammy's family. Our visit was wonderful! Her Aunt Nilda (who is the aunt that suggested adoption) & I had a heart to heart conversation (tears included), she is grateful that Adam & I have stood by Sammy & her boys. I explained to Nilda that without Sammy I'm not sure that we would even be parents & that I will be forever grateful to Sammy for her gift to us. I also met Sam's step-mom & step-dad (her step-dad adopted Sam @ a young age), along with her great grandma who will be 100 years old come December! Here are a couple of photos~

A Few New Sewing Projects~

Like any sewer, I've got a bunch of ideas in mind with lots of fun fabric! I came across this project in one of the blogs that I follow & am sew (pun intended) excited that I finally found the fabric to create one for Michael for Halloween!

Here's the fabric that I purchased~

Such an adorable little mini charm pack~

And here's another project that I have brewing!

Life Is Good~

Life never seems to stop bringing good things in, which keeps a smile on my face!

Spring is here & the weather has been to die for, which brings me to my first happy spot which is the blossoms of beautiful flowers! Our neighbors citrus tree is blooming & gives the most amazing sweet scent throughout the air! Another bright spot is that I love spending time in my craft room with my windows open as I listen to the birds sing their sweet nothings! I recently picked my cross stitching back up as I haven't worked on that since I was on paternity leave with Michael! What I wouldn't do to take a few weeks off work so I could spend my day & nights in my craft room!

My birthday is quickly approaching & I finally decided how I would like to spend my day. My new favorite spot is the latest quilting store that Michael & I ventured to last weekend. I'd like to go back to purchase some new fabric to add to my list of projects! Poor Michael & Adam, they have no choice but to venture with me as I'd like to get some photos in front of the gorgeous flower beds outside the stores walkway. Then a little later we'll head to dinner with my bestie & call it a night! Wow~ what a wild child I am at 33! :)

I've purchased some flower seeds and am hoping to start planting this weekend. Our front yard is in dire need of a pick me up!

We're anxiously awaiting our trip home to Oregon in a couple of months! I can't wait to see Michael walking in the plush grass! Speaking of walking, as long as he's able to hold onto something our little man is quickly moving on his feet!

I'm pleased to report that after a long conversation with my grandma last night Michael slept the entire night!!! This has been a thing of the past since he's been teething (which makes life rough for this mom).

Well~ time to go get my craft on!

Our M&M Date~

Michael & I had a date today in which I'm calling it our M&M date (mommy & me) while daddy was at work. We woke up early this morning & did lots of house work (rather I did). Michael took a handful of cat naps (which I welcomed) & we then ventured to our first pit stop to see grandma at work to purchase a couple of new bird feeders. We then made our way to Wild Birds Unlimited to purchase a few fun things for our fellow birds around the house. Afterwards we strolled to a quilting shop that I've never been to & let me tell you, I was in HEAVEN! I meant to take my camera however unfortunately forgot it at home but will take photos next time! It was ten times better than the Quilter's Market (which use to be my favorite shop), the funny thing is that it's The Quilter's Basket! Upon leaving Heaven we went to Trader Joe's for some delicious curry sauce, jasmine rice & chicken (my dinner). Today was truly a perfect day in my heart~ I can't wait to have more mommy & me dates with our little guy.

Here are a few photos that I was able to capture with my phone.
