Hello Spring!

Good morning all!

Happy first day of Spring!

Boy, this past month and a half have been extremely difficult to say the least! Adam's best friend from elementary school who passed away last year, would have celebrated his 35th birthday on 8/9/17. Adam truly never dealt with grieving, and happens to push his emotions away. Adam finally succumbed to the grieving process and the best of his depression got to him. I've never truly worked with the mental health side of nursing, but have learned a lot in the past month and a half and hope that I can help others with the lessons I've learned.

Adam is on the mend, and I'm hoping that we're on the up side of this journey! Adam will begin to see a counselor who specifically works with fire and police and working through PTSD, which I can say Adam has due to some of the scenes he's been on. He's taking an antidepressant and begins working light duty today. Light duty means that Adam will be working Monday through Friday, 8-5, and he'll be teaching the new fire recruit class that begins today! Adam has always said that he's wanted a boot to teach, well now he has 20 or so.

Throughout this time, I've not only been working 40 hours per week, but in school full time, maintaining the house (cleaning, cooking, etc.), in addition to taking care of Adam & Mikey. It's been tough, but I've learned how strong I am!

I'd better go get dressed for work!

Hope you all have a blessed first day of Spring!

I can't get over how adorable this quilting cover is! It was just released, and I'm going to have to add it to my shelves!

This little boy has kept me going strong throughout this tough road!

A dear friend of mine from middle school recently posted photos of her kids in church. This is the church that my Grandma use to attend religiously (pun intended) every Sunday. I asked her if she would take a photo of the cross as I remember it fondly from my childhood. Keep in mind, this is in Tigard, Oregon! :)

Mikey dresses himself just like his cousin Lincoln!
