Homemade Iced Mocha

My cousins wife (that sounds funky, thanks Wendy) posted a photo of the homemade iced mocha on Facebook & I knew that it was a must try! It turned out super yummy & I've had one each day the past couple of days~

Serves 1

5 ounces brewed coffee, cold
1/2 cup milk
1 tablespoon heavy cream
2 tablespoons chocolate syrup
1 teaspoon vanilla extract (I added 2-3 & it turned out better)
1 teaspoon brown sugar, not packed

For mocha sugar: (I skipped this part)
1 tablespoon sugar
1/2 teaspoon cocoa powder

For homemade whipped cream: (I added store bought whipped cream)
1/2 cup heavy cream
1 tablespoon sugar

Brew coffee & let cool- this can work with leftover morning coffee.

In a bowl, add heavy cream & sugar. Beat until peaks form & you have the consistency of whipped cream (about 6 minutes)

On a shallow plate, combine sugar, coffee powder & cocoa & mix. Rim the edge of your glass with water then dip the edge in the mocha sugar mix to coat. Fill the bottom of your glass with one tablespoon of chocolate syrup, add ice cubes. Pour in coffee, milk, vanilla & heavy cream, then the loose brown sugar. Mix well with a spoon.

Add 1-2 tablespoons of whipped cream on top and another tablespoon of chocolate syrup.

Enjoy!

My latest addiction & my walking buddy~

Michael & I have been taking long strolls down the street & back via kangaroo time with our moby wrap. Today he wore his monkey hat (which is much too big on him), and I got a couple of adorable photos with his eyes open!

I am going to make a scrapbook for Michael's tummy mommy, although it will more than likely take some time to complete! I decided in the mean time to make her a photo book on shutterfly.com. I am so pleased with how it turned out & can't wait to receive it in the mail! I ordered an extra copy for Michael to reflect on later in life. Here's a photo of our sweet little man helping me complete it!

Onto my latest addiction~ I can't seem to get enough of the charms that Brighton makes! Here's a photo of my current bracelet~

First comes love, then comes marriage, then comes baby in a baby carriage.

Here are a few that I'm wanting to purchase~

Mommies new tattoo~

I wanted to get a new tattoo that relates to our sweet little addition~ I have always loved the symbol of the infinity sign. I also incorporated Michael's time of birth into it~

Books...

Michael & I experienced our first of many a few minutes ago! I read to our baby, and it felt unbelievable! I'm fully aware that he more than likely doesn't understand a word that I read, though it's so important for his vocabulary to build! His little brain is a sponge waiting to soak new information and I want to show him the world! Perhaps we will take it one step at a time, one day at a time... :)

WTF monsoon season?!?!

Our typical monsoon season starts around late June and ends in late August to early September. Prior to Michael's birth, I dreamed of holding him while relaxing in the gliding chair in his nursery. I was able to do so the day that we came home, yet the monsoon season has hit every which way except the East side of Tucson! I'm so disappointed! I've only got a couple of weeks off before my paternity leave is over and I so badly want to enjoy a storm with my baby boy!

Likes vs. dislikes~

Here are a few of Michael's likes & dislikes~

Likes include: booby time with mommy (he loves to rest his little hand in between my boobs, watch out ladies!), bottle time, tummy time, rocking in his chair, watching his baby Einstein aquarium, swaddle time, and hearing his mommies heartbeat, and going for long walks.

Dislikes include: diaper changing time, being hungry. That about sums it up!

Feeding time can become a family affair!

Mommy/baby cuddle time~

The best things in life are free!

Nothing satisfies me more than relaxing in our gliding chair in baby boys nursery and feeling his sweet little breath! This little boy has me so in love it's unbelievable!

Happy anniversary!

Three years ago today I said "I do" to my soul mate. I am such a lucky girl to have such an amazing man in my life, I've been so blessed!
