Surf & Turf, And A Little Fabric~

Adam treated Michael & I to a surf & turf dinner as Safeway had some fantastic deals! It was Michael's first time eating lobster, & of course he fell in love! He takes after his mommy!

Checking out what dad's doing.

Daddy needed some help according to Mikey!

Supervising like a boss!

Of course you can see that Otto's helping too!

Being the fabriholic that I am, I had to take a trip to my favorite quilting store. I am so proud of myself, I only purchased one yard of on sale fabric!

I came across these adorable little sayings on Pintrest and fell madly in love!

Amen for ending the night with a positive thought and a grateful heart! I am most thankful for my family, including the fire fighter family that we've acquired throughout the 13 years that Adam's been on! They have always been one of our biggest support systems!

Hello Sunday~

I woke up with an absorbent amount of energy, and looking forward to sewing today! Sundays have always been my favorite day of the week, as they tend to be spent with family and friends, or an occasional lazy day. Today, Michael's going to spend the afternoon with his Aunt Ashley & his best little buddy Ty. Adam and I will have some much needed alone time!

I can't get enough of flowers as they put such a huge smile on my face!

Yesterday was the seventh anniversary of my grandma's passing. While I've spent the previous six years with a sense of melancholy, I felt content and at peace.

My dearest friend Ashley and I have been trying to find a matching tattoo over the past year and we finally stumbled across this one! Tattoo time here we come!

This has been one of my favorite finds from Pintrest. I've found that I prefer to complete our laundry throughout the week, rather than completing it on the weekends!

Seven years ago today, Adam & I decided to elope to The Bahamas to get married! Due to the stress from nursing school, the state Boards, the passing of my grandma, and having to pay $1,600 each month towards our wedding venue. It all became too much & I felt like we were being pulled in multiple directions. This was the BEST decision we have ever made, aside from becoming a couple of course! Here are a few of my favorite photos from our trip.

Applying for our marriage certificate!

I loved my hair!

My favorite part of my dress was the back!

Sew Sampler & Dead Weight Lifted!

You guys, I have to share my latest Sew Sampler that I received!

I couldn't resist late last year subscribing to a monthly goody box from Fat Quarter Shop (my favorite on-line fabric store). Since then, I've received one box that I wasn't wild about, however, that's not the case for the March box of goodies!!!

How adorable are these cute notebooks!

A new fabric line which I've been excited to see!

They generally send a form of fabric with a pattern~ which has given me a ton of fun ideas!

A few days back, our garage door literally came crashing down from the tracks (no joke). We had the company that installed it in the 80's come out as we were hoping they would be able to repair it. Well, to no avail, we had to have a new door placed. So when I say dead weight lifted, it was truly being lifted by the grace of God and many bungee cords!

Hello Spring!

Good morning all!

Happy first day of Spring!

Boy, this past month and a half have been extremely difficult to say the least! Adam's best friend from elementary school who passed away last year, would have celebrated his 35th birthday on 8/9/17. Adam truly never dealt with grieving, and happens to push his emotions away. Adam finally succumbed to the grieving process and the best of his depression got to him. I've never truly worked with the mental health side of nursing, but have learned a lot in the past month and a half and hope that I can help others with the lessons I've learned.

Adam is on the mend, and I'm hoping that we're on the up side of this journey! Adam will begin to see a counselor who specifically works with fire and police and working through PTSD, which I can say Adam has due to some of the scenes he's been on. He's taking an antidepressant and begins working light duty today. Light duty means that Adam will be working Monday through Friday, 8-5, and he'll be teaching the new fire recruit class that begins today! Adam has always said that he's wanted a boot to teach, well now he has 20 or so.

Throughout this time, I've not only been working 40 hours per week, but in school full time, maintaining the house (cleaning, cooking, etc.), in addition to taking care of Adam & Mikey. It's been tough, but I've learned how strong I am!

I'd better go get dressed for work!

Hope you all have a blessed first day of Spring!

I can't get over how adorable this quilting cover is! It was just released, and I'm going to have to add it to my shelves!

This little boy has kept me going strong throughout this tough road!

A dear friend of mine from middle school recently posted photos of her kids in church. This is the church that my Grandma use to attend religiously (pun intended) every Sunday. I asked her if she would take a photo of the cross as I remember it fondly from my childhood. Keep in mind, this is in Tigard, Oregon! :)

Mikey dresses himself just like his cousin Lincoln!
