First Day of Our IVF Journey~

My dear Aunt Flow came for a monthly visit yesterday & this is the first cycle that I've looked forward to starting! Although we aren't planning on having our IVF (in vitro fertilization) cycle until June (ish), I have to have base line labs drawn & start birth control. The purpose of the birth control is to suppress my endometrial lining in my uterus to aid in making it "viable" for a little fetus to inhabit. The longer that I'm on birth control the better. I had my labs drawn yesterday & will be starting my bc today.

I'm looking forward to our journey regardless of what lies ahead for us. I'm going into this with positive thoughts & prayers. If this is meant to be it will happen & if it's not meant to be we have been blessed with our little miracle child.

Another Ah Ha Moment For Your's Truly~

As most of you may know I love to plant flowers & greens however as hard as I try I seem to have a brown thumb. I don't think that the hot Arizona sun helps any with maintaining moisture in the soil, however I had an ah ha moment late the other night & just researched it! I have a front garden bed that receives Southern light, I've decided to purchase a drip watering system & place it in my garden bed! Not only will this help me to save money on watering but it will also help to save time! As a new mom time is something of the past, anything that can help make short cuts will help immensely! I haven't yet decided what I'll plant in my garden bed this year, however I'm hoping to make it very bright & colorful.

Here's a photo of my mini garden bed last year, it's a little sad looking however this year I have BIG plans for it!

Michael's bib was perfectly fitting for this photo! Not done on purpose.

One last photo of Mikey & I before we leave. I didn't feel like putting makeup on today!

The most haunted building in Bisbee.

Bisbee Or Bust!

Adam, Michael & I stayed in Bisbee over the weekend. We are making this a tradition (to go around this time each year) as it's brought great luck to us! Last year, the night prior to leaving for our trip we had found out that we had become a certified couple to adopt. This year we received Michael's birth certificate (the night prior), which was something that I needed to feel complete in our adoption journey. Adam wanted to journey on his motorcycle, so Michael & I followed closely behind. A few nights prior to leaving Adam made homemade lasagna (with his own homemade sauce too) & froze it so we could eat well!

We stayed at the Eldorado Suites Hotel, which is where we stayed last year & fell in love with it! The hotel was built in 1914, & was Arizona's first apartment complex @ that time. It's got such a quaint homey feeling & reminds me of my little apartments back home in NW Portland. The owners & employees are so warm & welcoming (go figure, it's part of the hospitality I suppose), they always go out of their way to make you feel comfortable.

Bisbee or bust! Michael & I in the car ready to leave our driveway!
